What is CBD Microdosing?
We know that CBD can be used to treat conditions such as chronic pain, anxiety, and nausea. But there can be too much of a good thing. How much CBD oil do you really need to see beneficial effects? Microdosing can help you find out.
CBD Microdosing Defined
Microdosing of CBD is the practice of consuming small doses of CBD at a time. Instead of taking a full dose, such as 6 mg, you might start out with 1 mg and see how you’re feeling.
Why Microdose CBD?
It might seem a little overkill to microdose CBD, considering it comes with little risk of addiction or side effects, and has no psychoactive effects. But side effects do occur, and sometimes, higher doses can lead to fatigue. Another consideration is cost: the less CBD you need to alleviate symptoms, the less you need to spend to get the effect you need. Microdosing can also offer balance, with a consistent flow of CBD rather than one big dose.
Some people consume a full daily dose of CBD all at once, but that may not be as effective as maintaining a steady flow of CBD throughout the day. Microdosing can also be used to find your threshold for benefits. If you’re adding a bit of CBD usage at a time, you can determine the level of CBD consumption that is effective enough for you.
How to Microdose CBD
Microdosing CBD is simple: the basic concept is to just take a small amount throughout the day. For example, if you would normally take up to 6 mg of CBD for the day, you could instead break it up into six 1 mg doses, starting in the morning and ending just before bed.
As you’re taking small doses, check how you’re feeling. Ask yourself how comfortable you feel, if you notice any change in your symptoms you’re hoping to address, and if you’re experiencing any side effects. If you don’t notice any change after about 45 minutes to an hour, increase the dose. You can repeat the process, increasing dosage by small increments until you reach the point where you feel the effectiveness of CBD, ideally as it alleviates symptoms of any conditions.
Microdosing can help you find the right amount of CBD for you, and keep your CBD levels stable throughout the day. It’s a good idea to try out if you’re just getting started with CBD, want a more consistent application, or if you’re not sure you’re taking the right amount.
